We currently are seeking a Senior Manager, Segment Operations in our office in Houston.
The Senior Manager, Segment Operations works closely with our volunteer Division and Segment leaderships to ensure that conferences, publications, and other activities undertaken by those groups align with ASME strategy and policies and also meet the needs of our volunteers and customers. Working closely with the Director of Technical Conference & Events, the Senior Manager will work with Conference and Event staff, supervise their activities, and delegate tasks as appropriate.
Additional responsibilities include:
Development, execution and implementation of strategic plans
Coordinating operations and activities for Segment Leadership Team and Divisional Committees
Assisting in planning, organizing, promoting and administering all conference activity of that Segment
Exploring opportunities for new R&D event activities, crafting business plans/budgets and working with Director, Technical Conference & Events to bring to market
Preparation of annual operating budgets
The successful candidate will have a bachelor’s degree and at least 7 years’ experience in an association or society. A proven ability to effectively manage operations and facilities are essential. Strong leadership, problem solving and strategic planning skills are also a must, along with excellent communication, initiative & follow-up skills. Travel is required.
