The Business Analyst will be responsible for promoting a culture where data enhances decision-making and ensures quality services across all business units. The role will contribute to RIMS success by ensuring business needs and goals through analysis and reporting activities. This position empowers business leaders with concise, high-quality information, helping them leverage it to identify and address business opportunities and threats.
This position sits in the IT Department reporting to the Senior Manager of Data Analytics.
Analyze and interpret data to identify trends and/or patterns.
Create analytical and graphic reports, dashboards, data tables and fact sheets.
Develop custom daily, monthly, and ad-hoc reports for business units.
Identify better business practices and processes.
Identify customer behaviors in targeted areas.
Identify gaps in data collection and collaborate with all internal business units to capture data specifications.
Ensure a consistent and efficient set of information and metrics permeates all levels of the supported business unit across the enterprise.
Analytical Skills: Business analysts work with large amounts of data: facts, figures, and number crunching. This position needs to see through the data and analyze it to find conclusions.
Communication Skills: Business analysts are often called to present their findings, or translate the data into an understandable document. This position needs to write and speak clearly, easily communicating complex ideas.
Critical Thinking: Business analysts must look at the numbers, trends, and data and come to new conclusions based on the findings.
Attention to Detail: Data is precise. Business analysts have to make sure they are vigilant in their analysis to come to correct conclusions.
Math Skills: Business analysts need math skills to estimate numerical data.
Years of Experience:
2-4 years of relevant business intelligence and analytics experience.
Personal Characteristics/General Attributes:
Ability to Identify and resolve issues with data, analysis and problem solving skills.
Effective communication skills.
Excellent organizational and time management skills.
Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
Experience with analytical and database software, Tableau preferred.
Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel
