The Director of Member Recruitment’s primary responsibility is to research, seek out and sign up new corporate end-user members (aka “Actives”) to the organization. Secondarily this position will manage and sign on new “Associate” members as new active members are brought onboard (maintaining IAMC’s balanced mix of member types). It is an important distinction that the Director of Member Recruitment understands that IAMC’s “Active” members are the anchor of the organization which is the primary focus.
This position will collaborate with current Active members and the Membership Recruitment Committee to provide leads for potential new Active members and provide endorsements for the value of IAMC membership as tools for recruitment.
The Director of Member Recruitment is the staff liaison for the Membership Recruitment Committee. Direction provided by the committee will be acted on by this position.
The Director of Member Recruitment leads and executes the Honorarium program for IAMC Forums as well as managing the “Recruiters Club Award.”
This position will conduct new member “grass-roots” efforts by leveraging IAMC local meetings. Specifically, the Director of Member Recruitment will work with the Director of Member Engagement to identify locations around the country with untapped/potential active members and assist in gaining local support for conducting IAMC Local meetings. This position works with the local members to create a list of active leads, reaches out and invites them to the local meeting, may arrive in town early to introduce IAMC to such prospects, and attends the local meetings with the purpose of welcoming the potential new actives and introduce them to current members, sharing the value of membership, etc.
Another general function of this position is to communicate updates to the database for potential new Active members to the Software & Development Manager. This also includes regularly vetting prospective Active members. Additionally, this position will maintain and update the Associate Member waitlist and application process.
This position works with the Membership Recruitment Committee to assign actions/calls by assisting with special projects and providing secondary administrative support, including some committee work, administrative projects, and other association management duties as assigned.
This position will maintain and update Associate member applications and the waitlist, and other administrative duties which are part of the process of recruiting new members.
In addition, this position will work with the overall IAMC team and support other activities which introduces potential members to IAMC, such as the IAMC Forums.
The Director of Recruitment will assist with special projects and other association management duties as assigned.
Work under the direction of the Executive Director and Board of Directors to develop a strategy for membership growth
Meet specific membership sales goals
Recruit prospective active members to IAMC Local Events & Forums
Work with Director of Member Engagement to ensure continuous onboarding of new members beyond the recruitment phase
Conduct market analysis to identify new membership opportunities
Staff liaison for a select number of committees – participate in the calls and assist with deliverables as determined by the committee
Perform other duties as assigned
SOME SPECIFIC DUTIES MAY INCLUDE (but not limited to):
Build prospect database and conduct prospecting for qualified potential members
Call on potential members in an effort to recruit them into the organization
Travel across the continental U.S. for IAMC meetings
Attend and assist in execution of IAMC Forums and other meetings
Meet with current and potential members during travel
Recruit current and potential members to IAMC Local meetings
Assess member needs & communicate to staff
Providing monthly reports on position-specific activities for the Board
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Associate’s degree required or equivalent experience is required. Bachelor’s degree preferred
3+ years’ experience in corporate and/or association sales. Real estate experience a plus.
Must possess the ability to travel up to 40% of the time
2+ years’ work in association business (preferred)
Intermediate Microsoft Office skills (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
